Kentucky Virtual Academy (KYVA), a program of Cloverport Independent School District, is a tuition-free online public school serving grades K–11. We’re dedicated to inspiring and empowering Kentucky students through personalized, at-home learning with state-certified teachers.

Our Story

KYVA is open to full-time Kentucky residents in grades K–11. KYVA is Kentucky’s first K12-powered online school, with state-approved education from the comfort and safety of home. We offer certified teachers trained in virtual instruction; a dynamic curriculum designed for online learning; career and college prep starting in 6th grade; career-focused courses in the high-demand fields of both Business & Marketing Education and Computer Science; personalized success coaching; extracurriculars, career clubs, and other social activities; and the backing of K12, a 20-year leader in online education.

The Support You and Your Student Need

Our teachers are committed to helping your family succeed with online learning. They provide instruction and support as your child works through the curriculum. And they keep the lines of communication open through email, phone, online “Class Connect” sessions, and online and in-person activities. You’ll also receive textbooks and other hands-on materials delivered right to your door! These offline materials complement the interactive online elements of the lessons and vary by grade and course.

Kentucky Virtual Academy gives your student a unique opportunity to focus on career-specific learning while completing all the usual high school requirements in a virtual learning environment. Our career and college prep program helps students gain significant advantages for the future. School Opening and Location

MU Prep held its inaugural first day of school on August 3, 2022, for Indiana residents only. For the 2023–2024 school year, MU Prep has expanded to offer our innovative, virtual full-time enrollment to students in grades K–10 in more than 30 states. We will also offer grades 11 and 12 in the coming years. MU Prep-Indiana offers a fully virtual program to students across the state and a hybrid learning option, including in-person learning at Marian University in the heart of Indianapolis, Indiana. Conveniently located, the beautiful campus is an inspiring place to learn and reflect. MU Prep hopes to expand hybrid learning models to other locations in the future.
