Utah Virtual Academy (UTVA) is a full-time online public school for students in grades K–12. We’re dedicated to inspiring and empowering students through an education experience tailored to each child’s needs.

Our Story

UTVA is open to Utah residents in grades K–12. We offer Utah-licensed teachers, English language learner support, career and college prep for grades 7–12, a part-time option with Statewide Online Education Program (SOEP) for grades 7–12, and dual enrollment with local colleges.

Part-Time Courses Through Statewide Online Education Program (SOEP)

Through the Statewide Education Online Program (SOEP), individual, tuition-free online high school courses are available part-time to any student in grades 7–12, statewide, who is currently attending either a public school within their resident district, a private school, or a state-approved charter school. Students who are homeschooled may also enroll. There is no waitlist for individual enrollment.

Once enrolled, students may enroll in up to 6.0 credits in the part-time program though they may not exceed 6.0 credits per year in a combination of their primary school and the part-time SOEP option. These courses will be chosen from the K12 catalog offered through Utah Virtual Academy.

School Opening and Location

MU Prep held its inaugural first day of school on August 3, 2022, for Indiana residents only. For the 2023–2024 school year, MU Prep has expanded to offer our innovative, virtual full-time enrollment to students in grades K–10 in more than 30 states. We will also offer grades 11 and 12 in the coming years. MU Prep-Indiana offers a fully virtual program to students across the state and a hybrid learning option, including in-person learning at Marian University in the heart of Indianapolis, Indiana. Conveniently located, the beautiful campus is an inspiring place to learn and reflect. MU Prep hopes to expand hybrid learning models to other locations in the future.

At GCPA, your child can experience an education that empowers them to shape their own path and pursue their passions. GCPA welcomes students from across the United States as well as from select countries. We serve a range of diverse learners who are looking for a full-time education solution in grades K-10. Alpine Online is a K-8 school offered by Alpine School District for students who are primarily home schooled. Our school’s goal is to provide support for the parent, who is the primary instructor of the student.

School Community Council

Serving on our School Community Council is a wonderful way for parents and teachers to contribute and help improve academic performance at our school. The school receives an annual dividend from the school trust lands. Our council decides how these funds will be used. The council reviews and prepares other academic plans for our students each year. All plans are reviewed for final approval by our school board. Councils also act in an advisory capacity to school and school district administrations.
